Katheryn Leopoldseder achieved Honours in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT in 2004 and has participated in many exhibitions nationally, as well receiving the Don Begbi Award for Excellence in Metal smithing in 2001 and a Certificate of Merit in the Barker-Rance Contemporary Art Prize in 2004.

“Even though the finished forms, the materials I choose and the techniques I employ to make my jewellery vary enormously, there are a few themes that carry through. The inescapable compulsion to use techniques and processes that are repetitive and physically demanding. The desire to make something beautiful from nothing.
