About us

Sue Clement, owner of Pomme, smiling with an armful of red flowering gum among jewellery cabinets and clothing in the shop

A trove {a store of valuable or delightful things}; a shop curating handmade, limited-edition works. Since 2005, Pomme has sought out local artists & makers from studios all over Australia, France, UK and Portugal. Expect to find exquisite clothing; artwork; handmade jewels; glass & ceramic designs.

Offer them as gifts with a difference; select them as objects to be treasured. We are happy to advise on special occasion gifts, wedding jewels & art work.

The Pomme story

“There is no perfection, only beautiful versions of brokenness” – S. L. Alder

Pomme started on a whim, a desire to work close to home and be around when my then-teenage kids got home from school. After many years working in a contemporary gallery in Melbourne, I contacted makers I'd worked with on art-related projects and took over the last 15 months of a shop lease in Mt Martha. The ceramics arrived, the jewellery evolved, there was a chance encounter with a fabulous knitwear designer working in Melbourne, and the rest, as they say, is history.

There have been 6 iterations of Pomme across Mt Martha, Mornington and now Moorooduc, as part of The Studio & Co.

The brief has remained the same - source handmade, locally made, artisanal works that withstand the test of time and transcend seasonal whims. We are so lucky to be supported by some amazing artists and makers. We hope we do their work justice, and we love hearing your thoughts about our eclectic but carefully curated collection.

Thanks for shopping locally. Keeping small, bespoke studios in our lives is so vital.
